A very popular Feng Shui feature to hang in the office are coins taken from each of the ten Emperors’ reigns tied together with red thread or gold ribbon — especially when tied with the mysterious never-ending knot. They should be placed strategically, either behind where you sit or on your left side to simulate the dragon. This Feng Shui enhancer is a symbol of wealth since it represents the prosperity of ten dynasties, hence its name. The coins used can be either genuine antique coins from ten different Emperor’s reigns, or they can be copies of these coins. In Feng Shui it does not seem to really matter if you use fake or real coins.

However, there are those who believe that genuine antique coins carry the chi of their period of origin. If you are so fortunate as to come in to possession of original coins from an auspicious reign, wrap these coins in soft yellow silk cloth and sleep with them under your pillow. If possible sew them onto the mattress so they do not move about to ensure that your prosperity will be never-ending, even from this life to the next. Even if you only have coins from one reign, they would be most auspicious if that reign period was successful and prosperous. Coins from the Chien Lung Empire would be regarded as auspicious period coins.

Hiding Coins in Walls and Floors

The most fantastic way to use coins to seriously enhance your Feng Shui is to get a few hundred coins, tie them up in groups of three or six using red thread or gold ribbon, and then arrange with a building contractor to lay them in the ground or pathway leading to your home, as well as in the walls of your living and dining room. This means that the coins get plastered into the walls and cemented onto your floors. The significance of undertaking this major exercise is to symbolically bring wealth into your home and it will lead to a steady increase in your standard of living.

Coins are most beneficial when they are placed in the west, north, and northwest sectors of the home so that if the front of your house faces any one of these directions, then the hidden coins will energize wealth luck. This is a ritual to remember if you happen to be building or renovating your home.

If any of your relatives or loved ones are building a home at this moment, you should share this wealth-enhancing ritual with them. Obviously this particular ritual is suitable only for those of you who are living in your own homes. There is not much point in going to the expense of doing this in rented premises.

Other types of coins can also be used to enrich the chi of your household. Try to find large, heavy brass or gold-plated coins that have auspicious words on one side of the coin and the trigrams arranged in an Early Heaven arrangement on the other side. Such coins take on protective attributes and can be used on curtain tiebacks.

More significantly these coins are also very effective as Feng Shui metal cures to overcome the deadly Five Yellow star number wherever it flies each year. In 2003, the Five Yellow is in the southeast sector, thus placing six of these powerful coins in the southeast will very effectively protect residents from the deadly effects of the Five Yellow.

In 2003, the misfortune star, the Five Yellow flies to the southeast. If your bedroom falls in this sector, counteract the Five Yellow by tying three Chinese coins to each curtain tieback.

This becomes extremely vital when your front door or bedroom is located in the sector afflicted. If it is your main door that is being negatively affected by the Five Yellow, place six of these special coins under the doormat coming into the house.

If it is in the bedroom, then stringing three coins on each half of the curtain drapes, making a total of six coins, should be an effective countermeasure against the Five Yellow.

Tying nine Chinese coins around a wealth deity, such as Fuk, for a set period of time empowers the coins with the virtue of that deity. The coins are then considered to be an amulet of protection for children.
