It is totally amenable to the spirit – and this month, you will learn how this works. Techniques will be shown. The downside of this transit by Mars is haste and aggression. Haste can lead to accidents and injury. Aggression (even unconsciously) can lead to fights. So be more mindful on the physical level.

Love seems happy this month. Venus, your ruling planet, spends the month from the 3rd onwards in the happy 9th house. On the 22nd and 23rd she starts to travel with your personal love planet, Pluto. This will bring happy romantic opportunities for singles.

The main headline this month, and we mentioned it in the yearly report, is Uranus’s move into your sign on the 7th. Fasten your seat belts and get ready for dynamic and sudden changes. This month, only those of you born very early in Taurus (April 20–22) will feel the effect of this, but as time goes on (and in future years) all of you will feel it. There are many positive things to Uranus in your sign. You are a more interesting and exciting person to be around. You’re not the usual conservative Taurus; you’re more a ‘free spirit’. You are seen as successful by those around you, as someone powerful and prominent. Career opportunities come to you and there’s nothing much you need to do to attract them. These opportunities will find you wherever you are. (You can’t hide from the planets). There are many image and personality changes happening now – a long-term trend.

Love could be a problem now, however. You might not feel it, but the spouse, partner or current love will notice: you seem more rebellious and unpredictable to them. They are not sure of your loyalty. You will have to make special efforts to assuage their doubts.

Health is basically good now. But with Uranus in your sign you seem more experimental with your body, testing its limits. Mars in your sign all month reinforces this. It is good to experiment, but do it in a conscious, mindful way, not in a careless, daredevil-type way. You can enhance your already good health with calf and ankle massage. You seem to be exercising more these days and this could be putting a strain on the calf muscles. On the 26th your health planet moves into Pisces, so give more attention to the feet. Foot massages will be very beneficial, and spiritual-healing techniques too.

Finances are good, but more complicated and perhaps slower than usual. Mercury is in retrograde motion from the 5th to the 28th. As our regular readers know, this is not the time for making major purchases or financial decisions. Instead, it’s a time to review options and to take stock. Gaining mental clarity on finance is the most important thing this period. Mercury makes a very unusual station (he ‘camps out’) on Neptune from the 24th to the 31st. The planets are kind to you this month. With the exception of the Moon – and then only sometimes – there are no planets in stressful aspect with you in April. Health and energy will be good. With good health all kinds of things that seemed impossible before are now possible. And, with the planetary momentum basically forward this month, you should see fast progress towards your goals.

Venus has one of her solstices from the 22nd to the 25th. She pauses in the heavens and then changes direction (in her latitudinal motion). This is a pause that refreshes. You will probably find a pause in your own affairs during that period. There’s nothing to worry about. Enjoy it.

Your spiritual 12th house is powerful until the 20th. This is a period for internal growth, for meditation, spiritual practice, the study of sacred scripture and for involvement in idealistic pursuits. Taurus will never forget worldly things, but at this time it is good to downplay them a bit. A little vacation from the mundane world is a healthy thing. Internal growth always precedes external growth. Things – good or bad – have to happen through you before they happen to you. Once this period is over, the party begins. The Sun enters your 1st house on the 20th and you begin one of your yearly personal pleasure peaks. Time to pamper the body and indulge its lawful cravings. Time to give it the good food, wine and desserts.

This is the period to get the body and image into the shape you want them to be. More important than the physical pleasures are the self-confidence, self-esteem and self-appreciation (which is not narcissism) that occur when the Sun enters your sign. The body glows and has a ‘star quality’ to it. Personal appearance shines (personal appearance has a lot to do with one’s energy levels). Thus it is generally good for the love life.

The family (and especially the parents or parent figures in your life) are unusually devoted to you. They also seem in better harmony with each other this month. You have good family support now. If the parents or parent figures are single, they have good romantic opportunities from the 21st to the 23rd.

Mars, your spiritual planet, spends the month in your money house. This indicates good financial intuition. Intuition is the short cut to wealth. One millisecond of real intuition is worth many years of hard graft. Intuition will not negate the need for work, but the work will be the side effect and not the cause of wealth. Mars went ‘out of bounds’ on April 21 and will be ‘out of bounds’ this whole month. This signals, first, that in your spiritual life and practice you’re outside your normal comfort zone. Perhaps you’re exploring exotic or alien teachings. (There’s nothing wrong with this, by the way. Truth is truth and we should welcome it from whatever source.) Generally this happens when the answers you’re seeking are not to be found where you usually seek them and you must go outside that sphere. It takes courage and daring. This aspect would also show that you’re outside your normal sphere in your financial life too – at least partly.

You’re still in the midst of one of your yearly personal pleasure peaks until the 21st. On the 21st, the Sun enters your money house and you begin a yearly financial peak. Now, finances were good last month, and they’re good this month even before the 21st. But after then they get even better. Your financial planet Mercury enters your own sign on the 6th and stays there until the 21st, bringing financial windfalls and almost effortless financial opportunity. Nothing much needs to be done – except to go to the bank! On the 21st Mercury will join the Sun in your money house. Mercury in his own sign and house is more powerful on your behalf and all of this spells increased earnings. There is good family support and you’re probably spending more on the home and family too. Your financial judgement is sound.

Love is good this month, and will get even better after the 15th as Venus enters your sign. This transit produces another mini personal pleasure period. It enhances the physical appearance. It adds beauty and grace – a sense of style – to the image. The overall social magnetism is increased. Venus travels with Uranus from the 17th to the 19th. This can bring you a sudden, unexpected career or job opportunity. Venus in your sign is a good time to buy clothing and personal accessories. Your taste will be spot on. The only problem with love is the retrograde of your love planet, Pluto, which began on April 24. It doesn’t stop love from happening, only slows things down a bit.

Health is still excellent. Like last month, there are no planets in stressful alignment with you (highly unusually). Only the Moon will make stressful aspects, and then only for short periods. You can enhance your already good health with scalp and face massage until the 15th, and with neck massage after then.

Things are slowing down in the world – 40 per cent of the planets are retrograde this month – but for you things are mostly moving on time and in good order.

Health is still wonderful. Only after the 27th is there any planet in stressful alignment with you – Mercury. And he is not a major hitter. So, you have plenty of energy and drive. You can enhance your already good health through neck massage until the 9th, and then through arm and shoulder massage.

Finance is the major headline this month. You’re still well into a yearly financial peak until the 21st. Your financial planet Mercury is moving speedily this month, through three signs and houses of your chart. This denotes confidence and fast progress. You make financial decisions quickly and they tend to be good. Money and financial opportunity will come through various people and in various ways. You will tend to spend differently too – it just depends on where Mercury is. Up until the 27th, money is earned through good sales, marketing and PR. Buying, selling, trading and retailing are also favoured. You could be spending more on sales and marketing too – and it seems like a good investment. Family support is strong all month. Family connections are also playing an important role in finances. Residential real estate and earning money from your home are also favoured.

Mercury goes ‘out of bounds’ from the 1st to the 16th. This makes you more adventurous in finance. You’re thinking ‘outside the box’. You’re going outside your normal areas in the pursuit of wealth.

Love doesn’t seem a big issue this month. Your 7th house is empty and Pluto, your love planet, is retrograde and not receiving any especially good aspects. After the 21st you will have to work harder on your current relationship.

Mars is still ‘out of bounds’ until the 12th. This not only affects your spiritual life, as we discussed last month, but now that he is in your 3rd house Mars is affecting your reading tastes – they are outside your usual norm. (You could have experienced this last month too – after May 16.)

Your 3rd house of communication is strong all month, but especially after the 21st. This is an excellent transit for students, signalling focus and success. This might be a good time for students to attend summer school. And even non-students can benefit from taking courses in subjects that interest them. Investors will experience an increase in investment income.
