There was no point in going into the single largest disappointment of his life. While they were together, he’d thought Alicia was the one, the woman he was meant to spend the rest of his life with, the way his father was meant to spend the rest of his with Kate. But he’d been too busy trying to lay the foundations down for a future for them.
