Manifest Your Destiny: The Nine Spiritual Principles for Getting Everything You Want

• Begin a meditation practice of contemplating the supreme principle that is beyond the pettiness of this world. Yes, it is in this world, but it is not blemished by this world. The mind needs and craves serenity. Meditation is not merely making the mind think that it is meditating. Meditation is, literally, the embodiment of truth and trust. It is in the purification of the mind that liberation reveals itself.

The practice of meditation is a powerful tool in my life. As a writer, I sometimes write for hours and everything flows magically. Then a time comes when there are no more words. I want to write and nothing happens. No matter how hard I want to write, there is no writing taking place.

At these moments I have learned to leave the typewriter and to sit quietly, closing my eyes and surrendering. I don’t know what I surrender to, but I simply let go and attempt to purify my mind. Then, after some time of simply surrendering meditatively, I seem to tap into something that is a source of inspiration, and I write page after page with no idea where it is coming from. This process of closing my eyes and becoming serene gives me the ability to tap into that source of inspiration. And the word “inspiration” comes from “in spirit.”

This is trust. This is grace. It is knowing that I can literally confront myself in a spirit of serenity and that what I seek will be attracted to me. This is the energy of manifesting, and it comes most frequently when the mind is quiet. It is the quiet mind that comes in contact with the truth.

When we meditate, we come into contact with the part of us that is truth. The surrendering process helps us to use this truth in our daily pursuits. It is the same with trust. Surrender to it through your quiet moments of serenity and you will know the truth of this principle.
