исключения из правила образования множественного числа.

Основное правило образования множественного числа имен существительных: к существительному в единственном числе прибавляется окончание -s:

a dog – dogs

a cat – cats

1.Окончание —es добавляется: к основе слова, если оно заканчивается на —s, -ss, x, z, ch, tch, sh:

– class – classes (класс – классы);

– bush – bushes (куст – кусты);

– box – boxes (коробка – коробки);

– inch – inches (дюйм – дюймы);

– fox – foxes (лиса – лисы);

– match – matches (спичка – спички, матч – матчи).
