The planetary power is now approaching its maximum Eastern position – the period of maximum personal independence. You don’t need others as much as usual. You can achieve things – make changes – on your own initiative. This is a good month to make those changes you’ve been planning – we have two eclipses and change is in the air.

There is career success and opportunity on the 1st and 2nd.

The Lunar Eclipse of the 15th occurs in your 6th house of health and work. This can bring health scares and long term, dramatic changes to the health regime. The workplace is unstable as well. Lunar eclipses tend to affect communications – equipment and your ability to communicate. This one is no different. The good news here is that Venus travels with Neptune from the 10th to the 13th and you are receiving spiritual guidance – either in dreams or through spiritual channels or psychics – as to how to handle things. Be more careful driving this period. Cars tend to act up during this kind of eclipse as well.

The Solar Eclipse of the 29th has a much stronger effect on you. It occurs in your own sign and in your 1st house. Take it nice and easy during this period. It indicates a redefinition of your personality and self-concept, which will be a six-month process. You will change the way you think about yourself and the way that you want others to see you. It’s always a good idea to redefine yourself every now and then – to upgrade your self-concept – but now the eclipse forces the issue. Generally this redefinition, this image change, involves wardrobe changes as well. In your Horoscope every Solar Eclipse affects the home and the family. The Sun is your family planet. So there are dramas at home with family members or with a parent or parent figure. The emotional life is also more volatile, sometimes with disturbing dreams. If there are flaws in the home now is when you find out about them and have opportunity to correct things.

There are important financial changes happening this month – not necessarily eclipse related. Your financial planet travels with Uranus from the 13th to the 15th. This brings sudden, unexpected financial increase. A parent, parent figure or boss is generous with you – perhaps the government as well. Sometimes this aspect shows an unexpected expense too.

Love is a little easier than last month, but not much. Your love planet, Pluto, goes retrograde on the 14th so avoid making major decisions after that date. Rather, it is a time to review and attain clarity on the subject.

Some of you had birthdays in the past month, while many others have one coming up in this one. There is much more to a birthday than merely opening presents and attending parties. There’s nothing wrong with these things, but these customs arose from something deeper. There is a sacredness about a birthday. It is an actual celestial event. The Sun returns to its original position at the time of your birth and begins a new cycle for the year. It is your ‘personal new year’. The old is over with and you’re making a new beginning. Life is full of new beginnings if we but knew it. Take time to reflect on the past year. Correct past mistakes and set new goals for the year ahead. Start your new year with a clean slate.

Most of the planets are still above the horizon, and so career and outer activities are still paramount. But this is about to change. By the end of the month – on the 29th – the lower half of the Horoscope will be stronger than the upper half (for the first time this year). The Sun is setting in your year; it is time to finish up the activities of the day and prepare for the activities of the night. In the meantime enjoy the career success that is happening – especially on the 14th and 15th. By then the goals of the previous career cycle will more or less be attained (and if not completely attained then there has been progress in their achievement) and you will start preparing for the next cycle of career activity in about six months’ time.

On April 20 you entered one of your yearly personal pleasure peaks. And this is going on for the month ahead. Now it’s good to focus on the body and image and get them into shape. It’s also good for pampering the body and enjoying the sensual delights. Self-esteem and self-confidence are at their strongest for the year. Perhaps a given relationship is troubling, but you are still attractive to the opposite sex. Love is better than it has been for a while (and next month it will be even better). Marriage at this time is still not advisable, however.

Your financial planet moved into your sign on April 23 and will be there until May 7. This is wonderful financially. Money and financial opportunity seek you out. Financial windfalls happen. On the 21st the Sun will join Mercury in your money house and you enter a yearly financial peak. The month ahead is prosperous indeed – Taurus heaven.

Mercury goes ‘out of bounds’ on the 12th and stays that way for the rest of the month. This shows that you are exploring new paths to wealth, going outside your usual boundaries, going outside the box, breaking with old limitations. You are still well into a yearly financial peak and you have a prosperous month ahead. Your financial planet is still ‘out of bounds’ until the 5th, and your forays into the unknown seem to work out. Mercury goes retrograde on the 7th. This will not stop your earnings, it will not stop the prosperity, but it slows it down a bit. It is time to review your finances and make plans for improvements. But first mental clarity is needed. Doubts need to be resolved. If you’re planning major purchases of expensive items or major investments, it will be best to wrap these things up before the 7th. If you must do these things after that date (circumstances sometimes force us), do your homework well and take steps to protect yourself. Check the return policy at the shop. Financial thinking is often unrealistic under a retrograde aspect and you need to protect yourself against mistakes. Financial delays can happen, but the overall prosperity remains intact.

Personal appearance is very important financially after the 23rd. Good to invest in this.

Love is relatively good this month. Everything in life is relative. Venus in your sign adds beauty to the image. You dress well and look good. You are attractive to the opposite sex. Venus makes beautiful aspects to the love planet, Pluto, from the 8th to the 12th. Singles will meet interesting prospects. With Pluto still retrograde, allow love to develop as it will without pushing it. Just be yourself. There’s no need to make important love decisions now. You are still a seeker of ‘clarity’ in your love life. If there is one thing that Taurus can’t deal with it is instability – and this is the situation in love these days. There are some interesting phenomena this month. While the short-term planets are reaching their nadir (the lowest point in your Horoscope), and technically you are near the midnight hour of your year, Mars’s move into Scorpio on the 18th makes the upper half of the Horoscope just as strong as the lower half. Not so easy now to get a ‘good night’s rest’ and work by the methods of night! It’s as if you are being woken up to deal with outer affairs. Your challenge this month will be to handle your career AND your home, family and emotional needs. Handle career demands by all means, but make sure you rest whenever possible. Constantly being on the go is never advisable, but sometimes it can’t be helped.

Jupiter makes a major move this month – on the 17th – from Cancer into Leo, from your 3rd house to the 4th. He will be there for the rest of the year ahead and well into next year. This often indicates moves or renovations of the home. The home life is basically happy and there is good family support. Some family members, perhaps a parent or parent figure, can be having dramatic experiences – surgery or encounters with death – but these are just bumps on the road. Family support is still strong in the year ahead.

Mars moves into your 7th house of love on the 18th. This complicates an already tricky love situation. If you’re not careful conflicts can escalate. There will most likely be negativity here, but it is up to you to minimize or maximize it – and it is best to minimize negativity where possible. Mars is your spiritual planet. Thus the message here is to surrender the love life to a Higher Power and let that handle things. When this is done sincerely, peace enters the situation.

Finances are still very good. They are perhaps not as active as last month, but they are still good. Your financial planet starts moving forward on the 2nd and your financial judgement is back to its normally good standard. The money house remains powerful until the 18th.
