1 1/4 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
Vegetable oil for frying
Maple syrup or honey for serving (optional)
Preparation:
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder and salt.
In another bowl, beat the egg, then add the milk and vanilla extract.
Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and mix gently until a homogeneous dough is obtained. Do not over-mix it to ensure tender pancakes.
After this, add chocolate chips or chopped chocolate and mix thoroughly.
Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add a little vegetable oil.
Scoop batter into pan, using about 1/4 cup batter per pancake.
