The world is cruel,
I only care for —

With ‘personality cult’,
Not even Stalin
Could reach this height —

Prouder than Petersburg,
More selfish than Moscow,
A villain and a rogue,
In fear of tomorrow —

An unknown pest,
A chaos broken free
Will come down to test
The many likes of me —

I fear in advance
What I will then be,
Will there be a chance
For ME?
Осенний мытарь
Нажму на паузу динамику событий,
Увидев листопада красоту.
Я, до эмоций жадный мытарь,
До наготы всю осень обдеру!
Я выверну карманы переулков,
Сорву часы с запястий дней,
Вечерний дым от солнечных окурков
Втяну с остывших площадей.
Не поделюсь ни с кем я взглядом,
Удерживаемым золотом поры.
Моё лицо отравят ядом
Мерцающие жёлтым фонари.
А осень расплюётся в спину
И будет улюлюкать и свистеть.
Окрасит ветер пальцы в синий —
Я стану медленней на треть.
Я обману слезливую погоду —
Надену тёплый кардиган.
И беспощадным чувственным уродом
Вернусь в осенний балаган!
И вот зимой, стуча себя в грудину,
Откашливая странные грехи,
Я соберу все чувства воедино,
Согреюсь о горячие стихи!
Autumn gold collector
The autumn leaf fall makes me pause
And take in all its beauty.
I will collect it all because
It is a poet’s duty.
I will be greedy and precise,
Just like a tax collector.
If winds should blow cold as ice,
I’ll wear a woolen sweater.
