The Four of Swords is characterized by patterns of behavior, urges and actions which, in some way, tactically or strategically, serve to help the individual survive.
Meanwhile, deeper patterns of behavior and manifestations of will serve to help the species survive as a whole.
Patterns of a higher level ascend to the Universal, Planetary, Interracial and Interspecies level.
And they are the universal Spiritual Laws of the Universe, necessary for its survival as a whole.
.
A "reversed" Four of Swords may symbolize "broken" instincts and unconditional reflexes. Generally, such psychic "breakdowns" are accompanied by deep mental illnesses.
